Do you know how to check your engine oil? Checking your car engine oil is one of the most important, potential money saving points you can do regularly as a driver and best of all it takes less than a minute to do once you get the hang of it.
Engine oil should be checked at least once a month and definitely before taking any long journeys.

- Ensure the engine is cool and the car has been stationary for a while
- Open the bonnet - if you are unsure on how to do this consult your cars handbook for further instruction
- Remove the dipstick and wipe until clean with tissue
- Slowly insert the dipstick back in
- Check the level is between the 2 marks - if low top up with the correct engine oil
